The health and safety of all visitors, volunteers, employees, artists, suppliers, and partners present on the site is THE priority of the Fête du Lac des Nations Inc. The organization wants everyone to have an exceptional festival experience.
Safety
The organization of the Fête du Lac des Nations Promutuel Assurance works in collaboration with the City of Sherbrooke’s Police and Fire Department to ensure the smooth running of the event. Every year, the organization implements strict measures in all areas of the festival’s activities to provide a safe event for all stakeholders.
Increased safety
To ensure the smooth running of the festival, the Security Director can count on the support of several security teams and qualified volunteers to cover the entire event site, before, during and after the festival.
Emergency plan
In cooperation with the FLN organization and the City of Sherbrooke’s Police and Fire Departments, the Safety Director of the Fête du Lac des Nations Promutuel Assurance renews the event’s emergency and evacuation plan each year to improve the effectiveness of the response to incidents.
Crowd management
A team of professionals trained for large crowds is also stationed in front of the main stage. The City of Sherbrooke’s Police and Fire Department is responsible for off-site security and works closely with the festival team.
Prevention
Respect and kindness
The Fête du Lac des Nations Inc. promotes the values of inclusivity, diversity, tolerance, and respect. The FLN team will not tolerate any homophobic, transphobic, grossophobic, racist, sexist, or xenophobic comments or gestures. This ZERO tolerance policy is valid on the festival site AND on the web platforms of the Fête du Lac des Nations Promutuel Assurance.
Specialized interveners
The team of the Coalition sherbrookoise pour le travail de rue is present throughout the event to support young people, aged between 10 and 30 years old, who are experiencing distress or various problems. The Élixir team works in addiction prevention, particularly for people who identify as women.
Qualified medical team
A large team of paramedics circulates on site during the event. An emergency infirmary is housed in the park during the six days of the event to provide emergency care to festival goers in case of need.
*Please note: If you have flu-like symptoms, it is your responsibility to stay away from the festival site and isolate yourself. Several hand washing stations are available.
